Lamine Yamal is the most-collected teenager the sport has produced, and the two numbers that frame his market are worth stating plainly: the Trading Card Database catalogues 40,437 Yamal cards, of which exactly 25 are flagged as rookie cards — and all 25 come from a single season, 2023-24.
This page is the reference for that season: which 25 cards are the rookies, when each one actually reached shelves, what the parallel ladder on the flagship looks like, what exists from before the rookie window, and which widely-repeated claims about him are wrong.

Seventeen are Topps-family sets; eight are Panini-family (Donruss, Score, Megacracks and the two Select lines). That split is the whole reason there is no single “correct” Yamal rookie: Topps held the UEFA Champions League licence during his breakout season, Panini held La Liga and FIFA, and he was playing in all three competitions at once.
Note the card number that keeps repeating. #64 is his number in the UEFA Club Competitions checklist, and Topps reissued that same checklist five times — paper, Chrome, Chrome Sapphire, Jade Edition and Japan Edition — so five of his 25 rookies are the same card number in five different finishes. If refractor and parallel naming is new to you, our soccer card parallels explained guide covers how the ladders work before you start a chase you can’t finish.
The set that does not exist
The single most common mistake made about Yamal’s rookie window — including, until this update, on this page — is calling his flagship a Topps Chrome UEFA Champions League rookie.
There is no 2023-24 Topps Chrome UEFA Champions League set. Topps renamed the flagship licence to UEFA Club Competitions when the product line expanded beyond the Champions League, so the card is 2023-24 Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions #64.
Three 2023-24 Topps sets do still carry the older “UEFA Champions League” name, and each holds a genuine Yamal rookie — Stadium Club Chrome #27, Topps Crystal Premium #27 and Topps Knockout. But none of them is the Chrome flagship, and all three are far smaller sets. When a listing says “Chrome UCL rookie,” it is almost always describing the UEFA Club Competitions card.
Worth knowing for the same reason: a great many cards sold as “Lamine Yamal rookie cards” on the secondary market come from unlicensed 2024 products. TCDB catalogues no Yamal rookie card outside the 2023-24 season, and none from those manufacturers. The 25 above are the list.
The flagship: 2023-24 Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions #64
A 200-card base set, released 24 July 2024. Yamal is #64.
TCDB catalogues 30 parallels of that card. Twenty-one carry a stated print run:
- SuperFractor — 1/1
- Red Refractor — /5
- Black Refractor — /10
- XI Refractor — /11
- Orange Refractor and Orange Geometric Refractor — /25
- Gold Refractor and Gold Geometric Refractor — /50
- ToppsFractor — /52
- Green Refractor — /75
- Color Match, Magenta Prism and Magenta X-Fractor — /99
- Blue Geometric and Blue Shimmer — /150
- Purple RayWave — /175
- Aqua Wave — /199
- Night Vision RayWave — /225
- Pink Geometric — /250
- Violet Speckle — /299
- Neon Green Wave — /399
Nine more are unnumbered: the base Refractor, Prism, Pulsar, Aqua Prism, and the five Lava Refractors (Aqua, Blue, Gold, Neon Green, Pink).
There is also a second #64 in the same set — a short-printed image variation, catalogued as SP/VAR rather than as a rookie card. It is the same card number with a different photo, and it is not one of the 25.
For scale, his whole 2023-24 season runs to 1,181 catalogued cards, of which 291 carry an autograph, 132 carry memorabilia and 169 are numbered 1/1. A complete Yamal rookie-year collection is not a project; a complete rainbow of #64 is. The modern descendant of this exact product is still on shelves — see our Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions set review.
Before the rookies: what exists from 2022-23 and 2023
His pre-rookie cardboard is real but very thin — four cards, none flagged as a rookie card:
- 2022-23 Daka FC Barcelona Ineffable — Rookie Star #RS, and a Gold version serial-numbered /27. A club-issue product, printed while he was still a La Masia player.
- 2022-23 DoC Deck of Cards (unlicensed) — Green #3. Unlicensed, and catalogued as such.
- 2023 Topps Living UEFA Club Competitions #596, with a stated print run of 8,822. This is arguably his first mainstream licensed card: a print-to-order release whose entire production run is publicly known, which is unusual and makes it a cleaner scarcity story than most of what followed.
The record he actually broke
He made his Barcelona first-team debut on 29 April 2023, replacing Gavi in the 83rd minute of a 4–0 win over Real Betis, aged 15 years, 9 months and 16 days.
That made him the youngest player to appear for Barcelona’s first team since Armando Sagi in 1922 — not the youngest in the club’s history, which is the version usually repeated. It is still a 101-year record, and it is why the card companies had a 15-year-old on a first-team checklist at all.
Barcelona and Spain, with the honours dated
- 2023-24 — the rookie window. Barcelona finished second in La Liga that season; the trophies came later. He became the youngest scorer in the history of the Supercopa de España (16 years, 182 days) and of the Copa del Rey.
- Euro 2024 — the youngest player ever to score at a European Championship, top assist provider of the tournament with four, Young Player of the Tournament, and Spain’s fourth title. He turned 17 the day before the final.
- 2024-25 — a domestic treble with Barcelona under Hansi Flick: La Liga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España. First player to win the Kopa Trophy twice; Ballon d’Or runner-up in 2025.
- 16 July 2025 — presented with Barcelona’s No. 10 shirt at the signing of his first long-term contract, which runs to June 2031. It is the number he still wears, and a Barcelona card showing him in 10 therefore dates to 2025-26 or later.
- 2025-26 — Barcelona retained La Liga and he was named La Liga Player of the Season, before a torn hamstring in late April ended his season.
- 2026 — World Cup winner. Below.
The 2026 World Cup
Yamal was named to Spain’s 26-man squad on 25 May 2026 while still recovering from the hamstring injury, and was held back as a substitute in the goalless opener against Cape Verde. On 21 June he scored Spain’s opening goal in a 4–0 win over Saudi Arabia — the second player aged 18 or younger to score the opening goal of a World Cup match since Pelé in 1958. He was Man of the Match in the 3–0 round-of-32 win over Austria and the 2–1 quarter-final over Belgium.
Spain beat Argentina 1–0 after extra time in the final on 19 July. At 19 years and six days, Yamal became the youngest player ever to win both the World Cup and the European Championship.
The cards that go with it are already catalogued. In 2026 Panini Prizm FIFA World Cup he is #70, inside Spain’s 21-card block at #64–84, with a short-printed second photo at #70b — one of only 25 short prints in the 500-card base set. Our 2026 Panini Prizm FIFA World Cup set review has the full Spain block, including Pau Cubarsí at #65 and Pedri at #80.
Collecting him without guessing
The honest framing for a player this young is that his catalogue is enormous and his rookie list is small and fixed. Twenty-five cards is a knowable target; 40,437 is not.
Most collectors anchor on one card and build outward: a graded #64 in whichever finish they prefer, then either the club story (the Barcelona and UEFA Club Competitions parallels that keep landing every season) or the international one (Prizm World Cup, Select FIFA, Score FIFA). A “one parallel per era” build works well here precisely because the eras are so short and so clearly dated. Collectors chasing the same profile also anchor on Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior, and his club context is on our Barcelona team page — he wears the number Lionel Messi made famous there.
Because singles, graded slabs and autographs trade on the secondary market rather than in sealed retail, eBay is where the rookie list above is actually bought — the live auctions on this page are filtered to his cards. If you are new to reading condition on chromium, start with our soccer card collecting guide for beginners; on a card where the parallel ladder runs from unnumbered to 1/1, grade and print run drive everything.
Want to pull one yourself?
If you would rather rip than buy the single, three current products put him in the pack. The 2025/26 Panini Donruss Road to FIFA World Cup Soccer Hobby Box is the direct descendant of his flagship rookie set and the right box for chasing his refractors — Barcelona play in the competition. For his Spain cards, the 2026 Panini Prizm FIFA World Cup blaster box and the 2026 Panini Prizm World Cup retail cards both carry the #70 base card and the #70b short print. More sealed options are in our best soccer card hobby boxes roundup, and he sits alongside the rest of the modern names in our best soccer rookie cards to collect list.
Card counts, card numbers, print runs, parallel names and set release dates verified against the Trading Card Database on 14 August 2026 — the rookie list was built by reading all 1,181 catalogued 2023-24 cards, then cross-checked against TCDB’s all-years RC filter. Career records and match details verified against Wikipedia the same day. Sets with no release date shown carry none in TCDB.
